MAC Lipstick in 'Crosswires' | Datingcoral

MAC Cremesheen lipstick in 'Crosswires' RRP: £15

MAC lipstick in 'Crosswires' is probably the epitome of my perfect lipstick. The colour is absolutely perfect - the bee's knees. MAC lipsticks are notoriously amazing, yet greatly overpriced, and this is only the second I have graced my makeup collection with. My other, 'Impassioned', has an Amplified finish and I have always found it a little drying on my dry, dry lips. YET, the Cremesheen finish of this beauty is amazing and feels more like a gloss or a balm - even though the colour can be built up. Truly (dare I say it?!) worth the pricetag.*

Now, I love my corals, but I have nothing this colour in my collection. Its pinky, but nothing fuchsia-tastic. It also is more of an everyday shade for me, as especially as it wears on the lips, it just looks smashing.

So. MAC 'Crosswires'. A very worthwhile investment, and something that I would repurchase even if it snapped or melted tomorrow.

*although I purchased mine for £11 in dutyfree, which is much better if you ask me...

Would you rather: Beauty edition

Sorry I've been so away guys, I promise after my exams I'll post more regularly, but with 7 exams next week i've been working rather hard!

I saw this would you rather on Topaz & May's  channel here! Check out her channel by the way (if you haven't already)! It's fab!

On with the questions..

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
Now, I -here's to admitting- don't have that many palettes at all of other bits that aren't eyeshadows, in fact, I only have one cream blush palette that I hardly ever use! For summer, I've definitely got more into my lipsticks and lipglosses, and my teeny tiny eyes probably can't cope without eyeliner! I'd have to say i'd rather lose my palettes and eyeshadows!

Would you rather chop off your hair, or never be able to cut it again?
Oh god, what a question! I absolutely hate my hair short, and as much as it would so horrible with such long hair, at least I could put it up! I'd have to go for the latter!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Now, from the name of my blog you might know what i'm going to choose.. CORAL all the way!

If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather by clothes or make up?
Ooh toughy. I absolutely love makeup, but I'd have to say clothes. Imagine what you could buy for that amount of money! If I spent it on makeup, look how much money i'd be wasting of trying out bits that I don't like or wont ever wear. I've got a big enough collection already!

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Neither! Haha, but if I had to choose, i'd probably choose the first - lipstick as eyeliner. I suppose if you could really blend it out it wouldn't look too bad.. especially if you had a dark lipstick!

Would you rather shop at MAC or Sephora?
I've only been to Sephora once when I went to Paris, but because of all the the different choices I'd have to go with Sephora, mainly because MAC breaks my bank every time I go!

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Probably the eyeshadow. I even have which one: The Benefit Creaseless cream shadow in 'Birthday Suit'. It's perfect for everyday wear, and being able to change my lip colour is so key to me, to jazz up my outfit or to tone it down.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
I absolutely HATE being cold, so I'd have to choose to look like a weirdo in winter clothes in summer. (sometimes I still wear my winter long sleeve jumpers in summer.. the warmer the merrier!

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
If I was allowed to wear them for school, bright nails. When I pick to paint my nails, I nearly always go for a bright coral (coincidentally, what I am sporting right now!), so I'd have to go with the bright ones.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Ooh hard choice.. I'd probably go lip product because I change my mind constantly about my favourite one, and I'm sure there are other ones I can find. I'd keep my eye product - which would definitely be my Max Factor mascara!

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
Now, if you know me you'd know that I hate wearing my hair up, I don't like my ears and I don't feel at all confident.. but, when i'm just around the house I wear a messy bun, it can be less prefect and I'm not good at doing my hair in the first place!

Would you rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
I'd never use lipgloss, hands down. I've never really got into lipgloss, and it would be such a waste of all my nail varnish!

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? Or sharpie them in everyday?
Oh goodness.. sharpie them in everyday. (using a brown sharpie, of course!) I think people look so weird with no eyebrows, it just isn't right!

Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
As much as I love nail polish, I need make up to feel confident in anyway. It's something I don't like having to do so much, but something I feel is necessary.. hopefully it wont be this way forever.

Thanks for reading guys! I'll try to post again soon :)

Superdrug, Boots and The Body Shop Beauty Haul

Good morning! (Or good afternoon, evening, gah whenever you'll be reading this!)

I know, I know, I've been gone for a while, which is entirely my own fault for being so busy and not managing my time properly! I promise that after my exams you will see a whole lot more of me!

It sort of dawned on me yesterday that something I really love doing is blogging and talking to other people about things I love (admittedly, mostly makeup), so I'm really going to try hard.

Anyway, I thought i'd start it off with a bit of a mini beauty haul, mostly from Superdrug, but a few from Boots and The Body Shop.

Oooh look at the bundle of goodies!

Firstly, from Superdrug I picked up a Max Factor eyeshadow - which is just so beautiful. My crappy camera doesn't give it justice at all, but it's a lovely brown that also has a lot of shimmer and a green tone to it, it's from the earth line I believe, which I think you can still pick up! I got this in the clearance section because the lid was a little faulty, but as soon as I got it home I managed to drop it, so I didn't buy it smashed, I swear! This was only around £1, when they're about £4.99 normally I believe.

Next thing I caved in and bought was from The Body Shop, and it's just a shimmery white eyeshadow, that I thought would be perfect for inner eye highlighting. I've used this since and it is such a nice consistency, not chalky at all which is perrrrfect! I think this was around £2.

Next, in the old season clearance section bit of Superdrug, I picked up these two GOSH loose powders. One of them is a white powder, and the other a very holographic grey, which has lots of different colours in it! These are so lovely as loose powders, but I can't help feeling that I won't use them enough, loose powders are such a hassle, no? The pigmentation of the white one is super, and I'm sure I'll find the time to use them! These were in the sale, so I think they were only around £1.

Finally, I caved into buying MORE lipstick! I really don't need anymore, but seeing these in boots for cheap as they have changed the packaging now, I had to get them.. and I am not at all disappointed! I have two colours, in 'Peace' (left) and 'Belle' (right), and they are perfect for my constantly dry lips. I love using Belle over other lipsticks so they will stay on longer and not attack my lips! Peace is a brighter, more corally shade, whereas Belle is perfect for everyday wear.

What do you think guys? Have you tried any of these?

Nude eyeshadow palettes

Helloooo! I thought I'd do a post for you today on my Nude-y Eyeshadow palettes. I love them all and I really wanted to share them with you.

Jemma Kidd I-Ris Enhancers - 02 Green

- £22 -

This is a lovely palette! It has three colours of baked eyeshadows - one a light shimmery brown, another a darker less shimmery brown and also a dark purple (which remains unused!). I picked this up from TK-Maxx for £5, and there was only this one that is meant for green eyes, which I don't have (Mine are brown). I still bought it because I thought that at least the other two colours I would use. They are moderately pigmented, nothing over the top, but they are really beautiful colours!

Rimmel GlamEyes Quad Eye Shadow - 019 Sun Safari

- £6.99 -

I got this when I went to the clothes show a few months ago now. It was in a Rimmel goodie bag (The whole bag cost £5) so I got this for a good price, considering there was more than 5 items of a good value in the bag anyway. This palette has a really nice set of colours, my favourite being the top colour,  also the one at the top of the swatches. I find it is a lovely green-toned-brown and it works really well in a smokey eye. The two side colours can be a little red for my liking, but tey are all lovely and shimmery too.

Topshop Smokey Eye Palette - Golden Aura

- £12 -

This is my absolute favourite nude palette. As it is designed as a smokey eye palette, all of the colours tone together and really look beautiful in a smokey eye. They also work well as single eyeshadows, the third one along makes a great all-over base for the eye, and the gradual shimmer in all of them is really effective and looks great on. These shadows are all reasonably pigmented, and stay on all day with a good primer.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette - Undressed

- £4 -

I know, I know. Everyone seems to have this palette now, and I only recently jumped on the bandwagon and caved in. I am SO glad I did! At first I didn't really believe the MUA hype, because I thought that for £4, if the eyeshadows are sort-of good then you have got your moneys worth, I didn't realise that they were this good! They are massively, massively pigmented and I love them for it! There are some colours, obviously, that I don't like as might and that I won't use as much (such as the last blue shade), but there are some that I absolutely adore (such as the far left on the second row).
I also love how there is a mix of matte and shimmer shades, and the matte shades can double as eyebrow fillers!

What do you think of nude palettes? Do you think there are some awesome ones that I haven't included?

My Topshop makeup!

Hello chaps!

Over the times, I have built up a bit of a collection of Topshop makeup, and I thought I should do a post on them, as they really are fantastically in-expensive!
I really like their makeup, and at the moment I'm really getting into the lipstick. I want to try a lot more, such as their cream blushes and lip pencils.

The main problem I have with these products are the packaging - don't get me wrong it is beautiful but it gets SO DIRTY! I didn't get chance to clean these before I took swatch pictures but you can definitely tell the ones I have only recently bought!

- all of my topshop makeup minus the Louise Gray lipstick-

Cream Eye Shadows

-from left to right: Emerald City, Snow Storm, Heavy Metal, Velvet-

I have 4 of the Cream Eye Shadows, all of which I got in the sale when they were going out of season (for 50p each!) a few months ago so I don't know if you will be able to buy them now, but they are lovely, but massively sparkly.
-from left to right: Emerald City, Snow Storm, Heavy Metal, Velvet-

All of these colours are really beautiful and massively pigmented, you really don't need that much at all to cover your whole lid. My favourite is Heavy Metal as it is a really shiny grey colour, it is build-able and works great underneath other eyeshadows, especially in a smokey eye.
My least favourite is Velvet, as I find the purple colour quite hard to work with, but it is good as a colour pop.

Lipsticks

-from left to right: Infared and Whimsical-

I have three topshop lipsticks, two of which are the normal range, one of which is a limited edition Louise Gray lipstick. These two lipsticks are really good, they are creamy and go on a dream.

-Infared topshop lipstick-

This is my favourite Topshop lipstick. Infared is a deep coral, almost orange. It goes on well and covers my dry lips - they stay on a long time and I just love the colour. It is a colour pop, which is not unlike the Louise Gray lipstick. It is a lovely colour. For only £8, it is a great deal - I compare it to the quality of MAC lipsticks.

-Whimsical topshop lipstick-

This is a lovely nude. I really wanted to absolutely love this lipstick, but I find that I don't use it as much as I wanted to, because sometimes it can give me the death-look because it is so nude. There is a little but of pink in it which is lovely. It can be mixed with other colours, but I don't find it to be as moisturising as Infared.

-Mexican Wave topshop lipstick-

This is a niiiice lipstick! The colour is quite similar to that of Infared, and it is a colour that I wear a lot. You can build it up, and it also can be sheer if you only put it on very lightly. It is versatile but is less orange than the Infared. This was only £5 in the sale - you might still be able to get it too.

Eyeshadow

-Topshop eye colour in Good as Gold-

This was in the post-christmas sale for £3, but now I believe it might be only £1, as well as the deep pink colour. It is shimmery which is a lovely finish, it is overall a nice colour. I wouldn't recommend it as an all-over-lid colour, it is more of a tear duct sort of colour, but it is nice and can look really effective in a smokey eye.

Eye Crayon

-Topshop eye crayon in Tarnish-

This is probably my least favourite item of Topshop makeup, because I find on the waterline it smudges and doesn't create a neat line. It is a dark brown colour, and I have seen other colours of these crayons that might be much nicer. It has a slight shimmer and looks much better when blended out. I got this on a sale stand in topshop, it was only 50p.

OPI collection

Hey guys, I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while! I actually did this post just before Christmas, but I never posted it. Kera-zee.
I'm so so exited, so I thought I'd give you a quick post about my collection of OPI nail varnishes. I absolutely love nail varnish, and my collection of OPI is ever growing!

Okay, so to start I have the OPI Top coat and Natural nail base coat. These are just standard, and my nail varnish does stay on longer, although I never see my nail polishes chip easily.

Then I have two crackle polishes. One was in a set (white shatter) and the other I picked up free from the Clothes Show (red shatter).

Moving on to colours, I have a beaaaautiful coral colour called 'Bright lights - big colour', I love this so much!

Then I have a purpley-browny-gray (good description there), called 'I brake for manicures'. I only got this recently as it was an early christmas present, but it is really lovely - especially for winter!

Then I have probably my favourite colour, called 'Mermaid's tears'. This is part of the pirates of the Caribbean set I think, but it is a light greeny blue colour, which is properly lovely.

I also have 'Sea you in hollywood' which is a shiny navy, but it's not sparkly.. it's more metallic. It's still such a lovely wintery colour.

Another really recent one I have acquired is 'Suzi takes the wheel', which is a great mushroom colour.

What sort of colours do you love? Do you have any OPI?
