Products I won't be re-purchasing

Some of these products I dislike, some I hate.
Yes, hate is a very strong word, and believe me I don't use it often..
I still remember the time when I said I hated something in maybe Year 6, and my dad told me never to use the word hate. Well dad, i'm sorry, but this word is necessary..

I was pretty surprised when I didn't like these actually because they are respected brands, but yet some of these are just icky.

Okay, first up..
Max Factor - Crème Puff Powder Compact, £5.99

I was looking forward to using this product, but when I first opened this product I was disappointed. It smells HORRIBLE. This may just be me (and some of my friends that I asked, just to see if I was going potty), but it really was rather disgusting. I read the reviews on Boots and some of them said they loved the smell, so I suppose it was just different peoples' perceptions.
After the initial reaction to the smell, I still gave it a go.. I paid a reasonable price for the product and I thought if it worked really well I could overlook the smell.
The powder itself didn't impress me at all, I got the lightest shade, and yet it still came out with an orange tint, and I can honestly say I had slag lines. I tried with less powder but it still didn't work for me. A disappointing buy for Max Factor, I normally love their stuff!

Collection 200 - Colour Lash Mascara, £1.99

I never really expected much from this product - at only about 2 pounds and the first mascara I ever bought (lolz) I didn't have high hopes - but it really was terrible. It went gloopy about a week into it's life and the colour wasn't good. Normally I use the black-est black mascara I can find, and it really doesn't work with my skin. Due to it's short life, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, although I don't know if it's still purchasable or available or whatever..

Max Factor - Vibrant curve effect Lip gloss, £7.99

&
No7 - High Shine Lip gloss, £8.50

These products are sort of the same - so i'm going to put them together. Both products smell like pineapple. I like pineapple, but I hate these products! I'm so glad I only got a free sample in the Max Factor, so I didn't have to feel bad about not using it. The only lipgloss I really like is Barry M because it's not that sticky, and this product is like the exact opposite. It's sticky and the finish isn't good.
The brush itself is not good - I don't know if in the Max Factor it's just in the small sample tube or if it is in the full size one but the brush can't get to the sides of the tube! It also isn't the best brush to use - as it doesn't cover the whole brush and just generally has a rather shabby effect.
I had high hopes of the No7 - their products are normally so good but after buying the whole £8.50 tube I was incredibly disappointed. It doesn't even last for an hour, it's terrible!

P.S GUYS. In Superdrug until monday, "Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation" is only £4.99! £4 off!

Wake me up!

Guys, I posted about it on my last blog post, but in Superdrug at the moment, Rimmel's "Wake me up" foundation is only £4.99 - but only until monday! It's reduced from £8.99 - so it really is a good deal.

Based on this, I went into York earlier today and got some! I've heard really rave reviews about this, and I'm interested how it will be, because I have oily-combination skin and finding foundation is pretty hard! I'm interested if it can live up to my beloved Benefit "hello flawless oxygen wow!" that works as a light coverage for my skin.

I got it in shade 100 - Ivory. I hate trying to work out which colour I am in the shop and in the bottle it looks completely wrong but after some erm-ing and aah-ing it sort of worked, so I'm happy with it. I'll let you know how it looks when i've been using it for a bit!

Thanks guys!

Nail art!

My second love: NAIL VARNISH.

I have loads, I'll post a post with all of them over the next few days, but I'm going down to LONDON tomorrow until monday, so be prepared for a haul and me to have no money left!

Okay, so I really like painting my nails, and sometimes I do like to add a pattern, and I thought i'd share it all with you guys! Because I have so many different patterns, I'm going to do four different posts with them on and which nail varnishes I used..

p.s, if you want a how-to on any of these, just comment below and I would be happy to post about them individually!

(going by the numbers on the nail palette thing)

1. A half-finished strawberry, to complete put white or yellow dots on the red part of the strawberry
2. Paint splatters, if you would like a how-to on this please just comment below and I will make a post
3. Small flowers down the side, any colours could be used
4. Checked, you could colour in alternating squares to created a checked effect
5. Little flower roses, whichever colours you would like on the base or on the roses - how-to available
6. Sparky nails! You can use whichever colours you would like on the base

Nail varnish for number 6:

Nail varnish for number 5:
- Barry M in 'Peach Melba'
- L'Oreal Resist & Shine in number 90? (don't quote me on that!)
- I always change the white I use, it doesn't vary that much between each varnish

Nail varnish for number 3:

I seem to have lost the picture to number one, but it is

- Max Factor infinity in '549 - Red Passion'

So I think this concludes itself for this post, I'll try to post again soon!

It's that time of year...

Coat shopping. The bane of my actual life.

I dislike coat shopping so much, which sucks because one thing I hate more than coat shopping is being cold.. Of course this is annoying; as in this realllllly cold weather I do need a coat.

Last year I got my coat really late, and sort of went with the trend of a quilted jacket.. It wasn't warm in any way and sorted of defeated the object haha, and I like my coats to be (preferably) long and warm yay.

So, the other day, I decided to man it up and go shopping!

I managed to get a coat that I absolutely love from Fatface, it's a little pricey but I adore it! It's one of those coats that you either love it or you hate it, and some people at school absolutely hate it.. but I don't even care any more, it works with my style and it is sososo warm!

Merlin Parka (Charcoal), Fat face, £98

(please excuse me in this picture... this isn't how I actually smile. um)
This parka has a removable quilted lining which is so easy to take out if it gets a little warmer and the hood is zip off and you can also take the fur on the hood off (for washing reasons also). It also has waist and hem ties with leather toggle details which are just so cute.

Overall, I am really pleased with my purchase, and I will be sure to let you all know how I get on with my coat, especially as it starts to get much colder.

That's all for this post guys, I hope you're enjoying my posts (sorry I haven't posted in a bit, I will try to be more regular!)

Just can't get enough!

Good mornin' my lovelies.
I've been on this website for hours now just trying to understand everything! I'm in no way a technophobe, but this is completely new to me!
I think i've got the basics sorted now, and the layout especially will change with time, I'll make one or get one of my more creative friends to make me one!

I thought I would start the blogger ball rolling with a review, of a product that at first I wasn't sure about at all (as it was free in a magazine, but shh!)

This is the 'Percy and Reed Finishing Polish'. It was free in Glamour a while back (it's the April edition), and I must admit it has been sat at the back of my beauty buys for a good few months. After my most-loved hair product ran out a few days ago, I thought I'd give this a whirl.

You can apply it when your hair is dry or when you've just washed it. I have to at least wet my hair down every morning, because my curls don't last a night's sleep! I applied this as my hair was drying naturally after towel-drying.
The first thing I noticed was that it seemed to dry my hair quicker. I'm not sure if this was intended or even if it was the polish, but I do like that quality (especially when I'm late in the morning!).

The results were great - my curls were defined more and there was definitely less frizz (a killer if you have curly hair!). One of my friends, with straight hair, tried out this product too. She said that it smoothed her hair and left it straight and soft.

This product is really good. I never expected it to be, but after researching Percy and Reed a bit, I have seen that it doesn't come cheaply and is well respected! I'm glad that my usual hair-care product ran out because I wouldn't have used this product if it hadn't!

The only slight down-side of this finishing polish is that it doesn't smell that good. It may just be my sense of smell, as I have seen many people love the smell, but I don't like it at all. My hair is left smelling of it all day and sometimes it is too strong.

All-in-all, I'm not sure at the moment if I will re-purchase this product. A 250ml tube of this finishing product will set you back about £15, and as I am not sure on the smell, I'm not sure if it's quite right for me. I'll see how it goes and let you know!

First post!

OOOOOH. My very first blog post, isn't this exciting!
I knew this would be the hardest bit, starting posts, well um.. hi.

Hi is such a random word, don't you think? Well, it's what i'm starting with today. Woopie-do.

Ok so I bet you'd like to know what I'm going to put into this lovely blog of mine.
I will be doing general posts on life (i'm deep like that), makeup (a little bit obsessed), fashion...
The general likes, I love reading all of these blogs and I just thought I might as well start, entertain myself.

There are a few things I think you should know about myself.
Ooh, that sounds dead menacing.. I promise you i'm not a crazed psychopath, just a bit of background info!
- My name is Tilly. Yes, it rhymes with willy. Fun timez.
- I am (approximately) 15 years, 4 months, 5 days old.
- I love Christmasssssss
- Makeup is my saviour, but I don't like spending more than like £20 on one item (benefit or MAC not included..oops)
- I live in Yorkshire, yayayay.
- I do Textiles (fashion) at school and absolutely love it to pieces
- Errrrrrrrrrrrm I can't think of anything else. But yeah.

Okokokokok as you can tell, I'm also a wee bit strange, but you'll get to know that it's all okay.

So yeah, I think that is it for my first (ever) blog post, how thrilling.
